Leisure activities
Kehitysvammatuki 57 ry offers leisure activities for people with intellectual disabilities or similar extensive support needs.
Please note that the following activities are in Finnish. However, we do our best to make everyone feel welcome.
Open activities
Open activities are leisure activities that do not require prior registration. You can participate whenever it suits you
Open activities include:
- YstĂ€vĂ€tupa (âFriendship CafĂ©â), meeting place for adults
- Teenager Club, meeting place for youth
- Senior Club, meeting place for retirees
- Rainbow Club, meeting place for people with queer identity
- Villiklubi, cheerful music clubs held in restaurants

Clubs and courses
We offer a variety of sports, music, and art clubs, among which everyone can find enjoyable hobbies!
Some clubs and groups have fees, while others are free of charge. You need to apply to join all groups.
The application period for clubs and groups is annually in August. At other times, you can inquire about available spots from Severiina Winqvist (see contact details below).
Camps
Camps offer participants the opportunity for a holiday where they can try new sports, enjoy karaoke, get excited about bingo, and most importantly, enjoy good company.
The main camp season is in the summer, with a new camp starting every week from early June to mid-August. Additionally, we organize other activities in the spring and autumn as needed.
Applications for camps are made through the event calendar (in Finnish). Information about the camp schedule and application process is always announced separately.

Trips and excursions
A few times a year we organize group trips to interesting places. Excursions bring refreshment to everyday life and offer experiences and new adventures. Travelling in a group is pleasant and safe.

Accessible volunteering
Join the community of over 200 volunteers!
As a volunteer, you can work with children and adults in a group or with individuals.
Volunteers can choose from a wide variety of tasks, for example roles as
- Assisting at events
- Being a friend to a person with intellectual disability
- Supporting families with special needs
- Being a community friend to enhance social connections between people.
We also offer additional training for volunteers with special needs interested in leading hobby groups.
The volunteer journey begins with orientation days. Our mission is to individually crafted support, enabling as many people as possible to volunteer and experience the benefits of volunteering while having a good moments.
